Product overview
Automate business processes — securely
Today, many essential business processes are not fully automated because of security concerns. Yet continuing to rely on paper-based forms and physical modes of delivery, including courier and postal services, is expensive and time consuming. Additionally, those processes that you have automated using secure communications protocols, such as SSL, still put your organization at risk because once a document reaches its destination, it is no longer protected and can be accessed, changed, and distributed inappropriately by unauthorized users.
Adobe® LiveCycle Document Security software may be used to encrypt and digitally sign documents, providing your organization, business partners, investors, and customers with greater assurances of a document's authenticity, integrity, and privacy. With Adobe LiveCycle Document Security, you can incorporate electronic forms and documents into processes that already exist in your core enterprise systems and extend them outside the firewall to customers, suppliers, and partners, while helping to meet corporate objectives and government regulations for enhancing the security and privacy of electronic information sharing.
How it works
Adobe LiveCycle Document Security requires a PDF document, which can be generated from Adobe LiveCycle Forms, Adobe Document Server or Central Pro Output Server. Once a PDF file is generated, Adobe LiveCycle Document Security can easily apply digital signatures and encryption to the file automatically — even large volumes of documents. This eliminates the step of someone in your organization manually opening each file on the desktop to add the protection needed or simply doing without it and hoping the integrity and authenticity of files is maintained.
Adobe LiveCycle Document Security can be used for:
- Document signing - Document recipients can validate the authenticity and integrity of content signed by the server using digital certificates from leading vendors. With Adobe LiveCycle Document Security, your enterprise can now process PDF documents with digital signatures in batch (or bulk) on the server.
- Digital signature validation — Adobe LiveCycle Document Security receives a PDF document from a user who has signed that document and validates the signature status.
- Encrypting and decrypting documents — If your organization already has a public key infrastructure (PKI), Adobe LiveCycle Document Security provides encryption and decryption capabilities. Documents that are automatically generated can be encrypted for distribution, and encrypted documents that have been submitted can be automatically decrypted, providing additional assurance that the contents of the document are not accessed by unauthorized parties.
Key features
Bring critical processes online, while protecting sensitive information
- Enable large volumes of documents to be certified, while eliminating manual paper and forms processing costs (for example, bank statements).
- Automatically generate and certify specialized documents, while ensuring authenticity, integrity, and confidentiality (for example, analyst reports).
- Integrate with Hardware Security Modules for even more security (for example, certificate stores).
Meet regulatory requirements for paperwork elimination
- Provide server-based validation of digital signatures for automated workflows.
- Apply digital signatures to documents in batch mode, and avoid costly and cumbersome security procedures that require paper and hand delivery.
Leverage existing IT investments
- Integrate with existing PKIs and smart card programs.
In government
- Reduce costs and errors by bringing more paper-based processes online, including applying for services and benefits, job and visa applications, budget proposals, etc.
- Increase productivity and help meet e-government legislation requirements involving security and paper elimination.
In banking
- Increase customer satisfaction and trust because customers have additional assurances of the authenticity, integrity, and privacy of a document, such as a bank statement, equity/bond analysis, etc.
- Enable the rapid, automatic processing of digitally signed documents and forms by bringing digital signature and encryption capabilities to the server.
In insurance
- Increase productivity by bringing more paper-based processes online, such as claims processing, application processing, Web self-service, etc.
- Enable the rapid, automatic processing of digitally signed documents and forms by bringing digital signature and encryption capabilities to the server.
